Blogging Award – The Versatile Blogger Award
Blessings to my friend who always passes along her awards to me – I can’t say thank you enough to Justina Luther who nominated me for the award. Check out her fantastic blog HERE.
So the rules of the award are as follows:
1. Show the award on your blog
2. Thank the person who nominated you.
3. Share 7 facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 5 blogs.
5. Link your nominee’s blogs and let them know.
Here are my Seven facts:
1. My favorite cookie is chocolate chip. My favorite birthday cake is chocolate cake with chocolate icing. My brother and I are alike in that.
2. In the past, I played four instruments, piano, clarinet, flute, and guitar. I can still play piano, but since breaking my wrist year, flute and guitar are problematic. I haven’t tried the clarinet yet.
3. About 25 years ago, I was really into Victorian stuff, even subscribing to Victoria magazine for years. I still like it, but I don’t have to look it or have my house look it. I trace my love for the Victorian to Pollyanna and Cape May.
4. I’ve been journaling for 20 years. I started in January 1995, as a result from a challenge of our pastor who said journaling can help you process feelings, your walk with God, and to keep a record of your spiritual growth. I’m on Journal #69, but there are only a few pages left. I have a cedar chest full of my old journals.
5. About 15 years ago, I discovered that I have “rejection” issues. Call it a root, call it a syndrome, but if you Google it, I used to have nearly every symptom they listed. I was so shy, my Aunt Juanita didn’t know I could talk until I was about five. I’ve gotten a LOT of healing from the love of Christ through the years. I’m still bothered by it at times, but I’m getting over and through each new rejection hopefully a bit quicker than before. If you look at my past posts for the last couple of months, you’ll see I had some pretty strange rejections to deal with. They’d knock me for a loop for a day or so, but not a year(s) or so.
6. When I was little, I always fancied myself living in the eastern United States. I’d see TV and movies about Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, Boston, and Baltimore. I really wanted to go there. I grew up in Kansas, so we had no ocean, just lakes. But I’ve visited all those cities. I absolutely love living in Lancaster County. Yes, we have Amish, but I stayed here after a two-year voluntary service term rather than move back to Kansas. Maybe I instinctively remembered I wanted to live back East.
7. Cities/towns I’ve lived in: Newton, Wichita, and Topeka, Kansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma (during college at ORU), Akron and Ephrata, Pennsylvania. I currently live in Akron, again.
I now nominate:
Kelly F. Barr – she has a great new look to her blog
A new friend – Rick Wade – check him out. He’s a freelance editor
Funny Dog Moments – about a cocker spaniel
Hi Donna,
Thank you for nominating me for the three blogging awards. You are very sweet. I will post the awards and my answers to the questions on my blog as soon as I have time. However, I hope you don’t mind, that I will not be nominating anyone. I don’t like to do that and make anyone feel pressured, or taking the chance of nominating someone who really doesn’t want to do it, not to mention that I don’t know many of the people whose blogs I follow well enough to know if they would want to do the awards or not. So, instead I will post the rules for the awards on my blog posts and invite anyone who reads my blog and wants to, to feel free to do the awards on their own blogs and leave a comment letting me know they have done it. I’m sorry if you are disappointed about this.
