Transitions—Part 5

I’m gonna wrap this little series up this week—with a poem I wrote. I wonder what I’ll write about next. Maybe a combination of different things. But one thing is certain—I’m moving forward with life, and I’m not going back. @donnalhsmith #transition #refreshingstreams #amwriting TWEETABLE

Here’s the poem I wrote a few weeks ago—between week 3 and 4 of “hindrance removal.” Have you had thoughts that run over and over in your head? We used to call that “playing tapes in your head.”

When I first heard that expression, I had no idea what they were talking about. But now that my “tapes” are silent, I certainly know all about it.

They were my thoughts—or so I thought. When ideas and feelings are part of your thoughts because you’ve always them, you don’t even recognize they’re not yours.

The poem will tell you about a few of my ‘voices’ because they are silent, and I’m forever grateful that they are. I’m taking the extra time and training so that I can help others and train others in the help I’ve been receiving.

Silent Voices

Thank You, Lord — that the voices are silent.

The voice of doubt that You are good and really ARE good. That You are a good, good Father.

The voice of fear that You won’t be there for me. That You don’t want what’s best for me.

That the voice of self-hatred is silent. I do not have to deride myself, hate that I was born. That I am fearfully and wonderfully made is my truth now.

That the voice of death is now quiet. I don’t wish myself dead or not here in this fallen world. I will live and not die and declare the works of the Lord.

The voice of Love I now hear more clearly. I hear or rather feel, the voice of peace.

The voice of the Lord’s Holy Spirit now fills my mind. He speaks what He hears from Jesus my savior. From the love of the Father.

Yes, I am being delivered. I can walk in everything I’m to walk in. Be who God has called me to be. Do what He calls me to do.

Bring healing and freedom to others.

The former voices are silent.

What negative thought patterns are so much a part of your thoughts that you think they belong to you? Identification is the first step to becoming free. @donnalhsmith #transition #refreshingstreams #amwriting TWEETABLE
