One thing that readers can’t abide is slow-moving, wordy, dull dialogue that doesn’t seem to go anywhere or do anything. We’re looking at creating sparkling, dazzling dialogue that keeps readers interested. When writing dialogue, don’t use the character’s name in every line. Don’t overuse. We’re tempted to do that to keep straight who is speaking. But that’s lazy writing. Click to Tweet #dazzlingdialogue #amwriting
New Beginnings and Established Blessings—Part III

The number eight is usually interpreted as “new beginnings.” Every New Year, we make resolutions to become a better person, or so we hope. Yet, most of the time, statistics show that by February 1st, we’re back to our old habits. We haven’t changed a thing. That’s one reason I don’t make New Year’s resolutions anymore, and haven’t for years. Because I would disappoint myself when I couldn’t keep it going very long. Now, I just allow God to work on me all year round and I expect to see new beginnings and established blessings in my life. Click to Tweet #newbeginnings2018 #establishedblessings2018 #amwriting

Dialogue is important in every story, because the reader wants to know what the character says, and how they’ll say it. To know the character is know how that character speaks. Click to Tweet #dazzlingdialogue #amwriting

I hope you had a very Happy New Year celebration. It’s always quiet at our house on New Year’s Eve. We do different things, watch a little television, maybe get on computer…it’s low key for my hubby and me. #newbeginnings2018 #amwriting #establishedblessings2018
I talked a bit about last year, and what a difference a year makes. I want to expand on that––especially if you are where I was emotionally a year ago. By taking a look back, I can move forward with great joy. I’ve been contemplating all this for weeks now…the difference a year makes. Click to Tweet
