Heart Full of Love – Part II

It’s almost hard to believe, but I’ve been married thirty years. Wow! To the most wonderful and precious man in all the world––for me! I’ve talked about him before on this blog, but I want to especially share him with you this week. Last Tuesday, I talked about my sister.

This week, I’m talking about my husband.

We’re opposites in many things, but we now share thirty years of marriage, ups and downs, heartbreaks and triumphs. Through it all, he has remained steadfast to me and I can’t say enough about him.

Opposites Do Attract

He’s a runner. I walk.

I may have more formal degrees/education, etc. but there’s so much he knows that I don’t.

Our personalities are different. He’s outgoing and friendly. I can be shy around people I don’t know unless I try harder, turning my “sanguine” switch to be able to talk more freely.

In so many ways, we complement each other. If I’ve lost something, he usually finds it. The same is true if he loses something, usually I find it.

He remembers details and peoples’ names so much better than I do. I think he gets that from his mother. She was like that.

How We’re Alike

We both follow Christ to the best of our abilities. At church, we serve as greeters and on ministry team. It’s so wonderful to be ministering side-by-side in that way. I love it.

Politically, we’re both believe the same. As we discuss politics between ourselves, if we need a point of clarification, we can do that easily, without any problem or argument.

We both love to travel.

In fact, it was his idea to come West and meet my sister, whom I talked of last week. We decided it would make a wonderful, memorable, and outstanding way to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary. Thanks, Honey.

With so much love being poured out on me, how could I not value and share that love with you? Remember to esteem highly those in your family this holiday season. You may not like some of them, but they are your family. And if you’re married, remember why you fell in love with your spouse in the first place. We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; let your light shine through your cracked pot.
