June Blooms — Part I
Certain areas of the world and the United States have pretty much the same weather all year round. But where I live in Pennsylvania, June is the end of spring and the beginning of summer. We generally have all four seasons here, but they are not always predictable. #JuneBlooms #SeasonShift #GodsTiming4YourLife
It seems for the last number of years our seasons get confused. For example, this year. Back in February, we had 70 and 80-degree temperatures when we should have had 20 to 30-degree temps.
That gets the perennials and the trees mixed up. The days become longer, the temps get higher…so much so that leaves and flowers start budding before they should.
Because the warm weather never stays — because it is still winter.
I have a beautiful Royal Star magnolia just outside my front door. You’ve seen the beautiful white blooms it gets first before the leaves come out. If you haven’t seen this pic before, enjoy it now. When the buds get too cold, brown gets on the edges of the blooms, or the buds don’t bloom at all.
Sometimes, we’re like the plants. We get out of timing because the it seems we’ve been given the go-ahead to continue to grow. But if a “cold” snap hits us in our tracks, what do we do then? Do we continue to bud, bloom, no matter what? What does that look like?
I’ve been out of God’s timing for many things in my life. I’m only just now beginning to feel the blessings of being in “the right place at the right time.” Because I can tell you, that’s rarely happened to me before.
God is gracious and full of compassion, patience, and love. When it’s our “time,” He brings all things together in convergence, like my pastor says. Let’s be like the sons of Issachar in the Bible, knowing what God’s intentions are for any given season in our life.
If we’ll seek the Lord, where He may be found…call upon Him when He is near…we’ll be in that time of convergence in our lives. Should a cold snap interfere—wait. The Bible says, “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.”
But now is the season to bloom! The weather is warming up, and God is moving. How is He moving in your life? Where are you blooming or preparing to bloom? The first day of summer is coming soon. With it, comes a seasonal shift. Are you ready? #JuneBlooms #SeasonShift #GodsTiming4YourLife
