Happy New Year 2019! See the Possibilities—Part 5

Almost a month of this year GONE—already! It goes so fast! I’m starting to make plans for later this year, and I’m also seeing what unfolds. I sent off an email this morning about teaching at a small writers’ retreat in October. I’m researching a destination for a weekend away. What one step will you take to reach your goal or your dream this year? @donnalhsmith @a3writers #HappyNewYear2019 #Lookforward #SeethePossibilities TWEETABLE

I’ve got a lot on my plate this year already. And that excites me. I love Psalm 139 because it shows just how much God sees what’s ahead of us, and just how long He’s seen it.

Verses 2 – 5 say, “You know when I sit down or stand up. and up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You know what I am going to say even before I say, LORD. You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” NLT

Verse 16 says, “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” NLT

That’s amazing to contemplate, isn’t it? I don’t know about you—but I have trouble wrapping my brain around that.

But that’s our God. I remember the first time I read that psalm. Well, I don’t remember exactly when, but I was already a young woman when I read through it. I can remember the feeling of being in awe of God.

Because I was adopted, those verses of God knowing me in my birth mother’s womb stuck out to me. He knew the circumstances of why and how He allowed me to be created. I just found those out in the spring of 2017, when I talked to my sister for the first time.

These verses mean even more to me now than they ever did.

One of my goals this year is to complete a set of classes to equip me to hold inner healing retreats—especially for those with rejection issues.

What does your year look like? What one step will you take toward your dreams? Who can you ask to help you along the way? @donnalhsmith @a3writers #HappyNewYear2019 #Lookforward #SeethePossibilities TWEETABLE
