Unlocking Your Blessings in May—Part I

Throughout April, we’ve been looking at God’s Timing for Your Life, by Dutch Sheets. I’ve read this little book many times since it was released in 2001. Rev. Sheets outlines nine keys to creating a shift in your life, getting you ready to walk into God’s favor. We’ll be looking at those keys during the month of May. Be encouraged. God is shifting the season. Grab hold of it. Click to Tweet #GodsTimingForYourLife #amwriting #UnlockingYourBlessingsInMay2018

These keys are mentioned in the first chapter of Joshua in the Bible.

Key #1: We Must Accept Responsibility to Do Our Part

Yes, God is sovereign, but He’s not going to “make” us “do” anything. That would take away free will and choice, and God will never do that. Chapter 1 of Joshua marks the transition between the leadership of Moses to Joshua. So, God says to Joshua, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.” Joshua 1:2 ESV.

Not that Joshua needed reminding, but God confirms him as the new leader. For forty years, (can you imagine that?), Joshua has been serving Moses as second in command. Now, it’s his turn to lead.

Something similar just happened to me within the last month. I was “second in command” for the website Almost an Author, doing whatever needed done to help the managing editor. My main job was to format and schedule blog posts every month. I did that for six months, and “suddenly” (God loves suddenlies), the managing editor I’d been serving, stepped down, and I was asked to take over.

You can read more about that by following this link: https://donnalhsmith.com/2018/03/20/march-winds-part-ii/#more-2698

We will need to be faithful to do our part during any time of transition in our lives, fulfilling the assignments of the Lord. We must act responsibility, walk in truth and wisdom so we can reach fullness.

There’s God’s part and our part. If we do our part, God will do His, and we will reach God’s fullness for this season. Click to Tweet #GodsTimingForYourLife #amwriting #UnlockingYourBlessingsInMay2018

Cracked-Pot

We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; let your light shine through your cracked pot. Ring the bells that still can ring, Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, That's how the light gets in and comes out.
